Management Team

Martin Kane
Martin Kane was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Severn Trent Services, Inc. in April 2012. He also serves on the Severn Trent Plc Board of Directors and is a member of the Severn Trent Plc Executive Committee.

Mr. Kane is responsible for the global non-regulated business of Severn Trent Services, which includes Water Purification, Operating Services and Analytical Services, a group of companies specializing in water and wastewater equipment for disinfection and filtration; operations and management of water and wastewater plants for municipal and industrial clients as well as Laboratory Services in the UK which offers water, waste and land analysis solutions.

Prior to joining Severn Trent Services, Kane served as Director of Customer Relations for Severn Trent Water, having joined the company in 1975. Since then, he held a number of senior Strategy and Operational roles within the company, directly impacting and improving core business processes. In addition, he was involved in the design, construction and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution networks and sewerage systems.

Mr. Kane is a chartered civil engineer and a chartered environmental engineer. He is a past Chairman of the United Kingdom Society for Trenchless Technology, and continues to be a Guarantor of the International Society. He is Chairman of Utility and Service Industries Training and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Water Companies.


Johnathan Davies
Jonathan Davies was named Vice President, Regional Operations, for global technology and products in March 2013. He has been with the Severn Trent group since 2006, serving as Head of Investor Relations, Director of Financial Performance and most recently Director of Group Business Development for Severn Trent Plc. Davies also served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Severn Trent Services prior to the appointment of Stephane Bouvier.

Prior to joining Severn Trent, Davies held a number of senior roles within the broadcast and telecommunications infrastructure industry, including finance director of the UK subsidiary of Crown Castle International, a NYSE listed company. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.


Ian Dearnley
Vice President, Product Management & Global Procurement
Since joining the Severn Trent group in 1998, Ian has held a number of management and specialist roles and was appointed Vice President Product Management & Global Procurement in January 2013. Over the period, Ian has worked across regulated Severn Trent Water operations, Corporate Strategy & Development, New Business Ventures and in recent years, the Severn Trent Services business where he has been pivotal to the realization of key strategic initiatives, including driving the innovation agenda; development and commercialization of the new ballast water product line, which represented a multi-million dollar investment for the business; and M&A and interim general management. Dearnley has wide experience in management, business transformation, new business creation, new product development, corporate strategy & development, marketing and communications, commercial and contract management, gained both within the Severn Trent group and other industry sectors including FTSE telecoms, FTSE property and the security industry. Dearnley holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Law and International Law (University of Nottingham, UK), an MBA with Distinction (Warwick Business School, UK) as well as a post-graduate Diploma in Marketing (Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK).


Stephane Bouvier
Stephane Bouvier was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Severn Trent Services, Inc., in February 2012. He also serves on the Severn Trent Services Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Severn Trent Services, Bouvier served as European CFO for G4S Plc, a FTSE 100 company and was a divisional finance director for an international business process outsourcing company, Xchanging Plc

Bouvier was born in France achieved a first class degree at the French School of Management (ESSCA) and a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of the West of England in Bristol. He subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant after joining Ernst & Young, one of the “big four” accountancy and advisory services firms.


Wayne F. Earp
Managing Director, Severn Trent Costain
Severn Trent Costain works in partnership with commercial, industrial and public sector customers across the UK delivering innovative water and wastewater strategies which reduce costs, improve efficiencies and ensure legal compliance. Wayne Earp has more than 20 years experience in technical and managerial roles covering both clean and dirty water operations and design. He also has a proven track record of delivering successful major change projects working at senior level within the Severn Trent group.

Earp is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Environmentalist, and a Member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Institution of Water Officers (IWO). He holds a BSc degree in Civil Engineering from Birmingham University and a Masters in Business Administration, with Distinction, from Warwick University. He was President of Midlands Area IWO in 2004 and remains an active member of the Area Committee.  


Robert Hutcheson
Robert Hutcheson was named as Managing Director, Severn Trent Italia Group in May 2007, responsible for the operating services businesses in Italy. Robert has more than 19 years experience with the Severn Trent Group which he joined after initially working for a civil engineering consultancy.

Hutcheson began his career in Severn Trent in various operational roles in the UK water supply company, mostly at water treatment facilities. He subsequently moved to a post in Severn Trent Services International where he used his experience gained in the water company as a consultant on various international water projects for clients such as the World Bank, primarily in Africa, Russia and Eastern Europe. It was also in this role that he was involved in Severn Trent’s development of its Italian portfolio through acquisition. He later went on to live in Italy for five years as Managing Director of one of the acquired companies during which time he became fluent in Italian.

Hutcheson has a HNC in Civil Engineering from the University of Central England.


Dana Kaas
In 2000, Dana Kaas joined Severn Trent Services as Vice President, Operating Services. Sought after for his strong, hands-on management approach, Kaas primarily focuses on managing various activities at our 400 contract operations projects.

With more than 25 years of management experience, Kaas has spent the last 16 years in the environmental services industry. Before joining the Severn Trent management team, Kaas served as the Vice President and General Manager of Environmental Logistics at GATX Chemical Logistics Group, designing a marketing program that served the logistical needs of the hazardous and non-hazardous waste treatment facilities nationwide. He was also President at Surface Chemistry Technologies. There, he was responsible for marketing a new fluids separation technology as well as logistical services. His experience also includes sales and business development.

At Severn Trent Services, Kaas is responsible for 1,000 staff at more than 400 facilities. With contract operations valued at more than $150 million, he ensures that operations at the sites function smoothly and effectively.

Kaas holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University, an MBA from Temple University and has done some post graduate work in financial management and logistics.


Gary Mechler
Gary Mechler is Vice President of Health, Safety and Environment and is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the company’s health, safety and environmental programs and activities on a global basis.

Mechler previously served as Regional Vice President for Operating Services in Severn Trent Services’ Gulf region.

Before joining the company, he was the Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental Auditor for Lyondell Petrochemical Company. Mechler earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene and safety and a master’s degree in environmental management.

 


Thomas M. Mills
Thomas M. Mills has been with Severn Trent Services since June 1999 initially serving as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Severn Trent Technology. In 2000 he was appointed Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for Severn Trent Services and in 2013 Vice President Corporate Marketing and Communications.

Prior to joining Severn Trent, Mills spent 18 years in chemical and integrated oil industries with Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), ARCO Chemical and Lyondell Petrochemical Companies in Philadelphia, PA. During this time, he served in a variety of functions and roles that included internal audit, financial analysis, marketing management, national accounts management and investor relations. Mills began his career as an internal auditor for the Endicott Johnson Corporation.

Mills' current responsibilities include global marketing and brand development programs, internal and external communications, customer experience programs, market research and corporate responsibility across all Severn Trent Services businesses.

Mills holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware, and a Master’s degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of the Water & Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association (WWEMA) and as that association's Chairman in 2008.


 

Marwan F. Nesicolaci
Marwan F. Nesicolaci joined Severn Trent Services in 2000 and was named Vice President of International Sales & Business Development in 2005. In January 2013 he was named Vice President Global Sales and Marketing. His responsibilities include overseeing global sales, business development and marketing activities for the water and wastewater treatment products business. Nesicolaci brings to his role nearly 30 years of experience in the water treatment technology industry. In 1988 he founded and served as president of Universal Aqua Technologies, now recognized as Severn Trent Services' desalination, membrane filtration product line. He speaks five languages: French, Italian, Arabic, Spanish and English.

Nesicolaci holds an AA from Franklin College in Switzerland, a BS in Business Administration and from Pepperdine University, and a graduate degree in International Finance from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).


 

Terry Pearce
Terry A. Pearce has been with Severn Trent Services since January 2000 serving as the Vice President Human Resources.

Prior to joining Severn Trent Services, Pearce was Director Human Resource Development for Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, PA. She also was Assistant Vice President Human Resources at The Vanguard Group, Inc a leader in the mutual fund investment industry. For both organizations, she served in a variety of human resource functions over a period of 16 years.

Pearce is responsible for the human resource management of more than 3,000 employees across the globe.

Pearce graduated with a B.A. Communications, minor in Business from Shippensburg University. She is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
