Severn Trent Services to Showcase Latest Developments in Water and Wastewater Treatment at WEFTEC 2012
Severn Trent Services, a leading global supplier of water and wastewater solutions including water purification technologies and contract operating services, will be revealing new technology at the WEFTEC exhibition and conference in New Orleans, La., from 29 September – 5 October 2012. The company will be showcasing its innovative solutions for water and wastewater treatment, unveiling the new Anchor-Rite® feature for its TETRA® LP Block™ dual-parallel lateral underdrain filter floors along with a new, improved, upgraded model of its MicroDynamics® open channel microwave UV disinfection solutions at booth #3437.

According to Tom Mills, vice president, marketing and business development, “Severn Trent Services will be revealing new, exciting product developments at WEFTEC this year. The new innovations ensure we will continue to deliver effective and cost-efficient solutions to our customers. Globally, we are helping to solve some of the most pressing water-related issues faced by individuals, industry and governments.”

Severn Trent Services will be introducing the next generation of MicroDynamics open channel microwave UV disinfection systems at WEFTEC. Specially designed for wastewater and reuse applications, the new solution offers greater disinfection capacity in a smaller footprint compared to previous designs. MicroDynamics technology uses microwaves to energize low-pressure, high-output electrodeless lamps for water and wastewater disinfection. Systems are available in open channel designs for the UV disinfection of wastewater or closed vessel designs as an ideal solution for both wastewater and drinking water treatment. MicroDynamics microwave UV systems offer a proven, cost-effective, reliable and safe UV disinfection treatment method.

TETRA LP Block dual-parallel lateral underdrain filter floors provide excellent distribution of both backwash air and water to offer more efficient bed cleaning and lower operating costs. TETRA LP Blocks feature the patented GroutGrip™ and the patent pending Anchor-Rite designs. The GroutGrip design increases resistance to uplift from the filter floor while Anchor-Rite securely fastens the block to the floor. The new Anchor-Rite design will be on display at the WEFTEC exhibition.

Visitors to booth #3437 can also learn more about Severn Trent Services’ range of filtration solutions including TETRA tertiary and biological wastewater treatment technologiesUAT™ membrane filtration and SORB (Bayoxide® media) inorganic removal treatment systems. In addition to the MicroDynamics microwave UV disinfection developments, Severn Trent Services will be highlighting the operating and cost advantages of its disinfection solutions including ClorTec® on-site sodium hypochlorite generators and Capital Controls® gas feed disinfection systems.

Severn Trent Services will also be showcasing its water and wastewater contract operating services. It provides services to more than 400 treatment facilities across the United States and 1,000 globally. Partnerships benefit with cost savings to offset shrinking municipal budgets, opportunities for the career growth and development of staff, guaranteed regulatory compliance and minimal overall risks involved with water services.
