Azhar Farooqui named senior sales executive for company’s proven line of disinfection products
Severn Trent Services has announced an addition to its global business development staff in its Abu Dhabi office, reflecting new growth opportunities for its Middle East business. Azhar Farooqui has been named Middle East senior sales executive for disinfection products, which comprises a range of proven disinfection technologies including gas feed systems, chlorine dioxide systems, ultraviolet disinfection systems and on-site sodium hypochlorite generation systems.
In his new role, Farooqui is responsible for the development of business opportunities and increasing market share for Severn Trent Services’ innovative technologies. He will develop relationships with municipal government agencies, consulting engineers, engineering firms, EPC contractors and commercial / industrial enterprises. In addition he is responsible for recommending and developing new alternate sales channels for the company’s products in the region.
Farooqui has nine years sales experience, including five years in business development roles based in the GCC (the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf). His GCC experience has been predominantly in the municipal water sector and the oil and gas industry. Most recently, Farooqui was employed as technical sales engineer, Lutz-Jesco Middle East FZE in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, since 2007. The role included sales of chemical dosing systems, disinfection products and controllers / analysers.
Farooqui earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Aligarh Muslim University and is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu. He is currently pursuing an MBA in marketing.
