The two key components to the patented D-CHLOR™ Dechlorination System are the flow-through feeder and the D-CHLOR Tablets. Tablets are placed in the feed tubes of the flow-through feeder. As water passes through the feeder, slots in the feed tubes allow contact of the tablets with the water. Using Severn Trent Services’ proprietary process, the tablets have been specially formulated to dissolve at a controlled rate so a controlled amount of sulfite is added to the water as it flows through the feeder.
The feeder readily adapts to changes in flow rate. As the flow rate increases, a weir located at the outlet of the feeder causes the water level in the feeder to rise. This causes more tablets to be in contact with the water. The result is a constant sulfite concentration in the treated water in spite of fluctuations in flow rate. The sulfite concentration is set by choosing the proper number of tubes to be filled with tablets and the size of the outlet weir. All of this is accomplished without the use of complicated instruments, controls, or even electrical power.
For optimum performance, D-CHLOR Tablets should only be dispensed in any of Severn Trent Services' patented tablet feeders. Models 1000 and 1001 Tablet Feeders can handle up to 50,000 gpd. By using a by-pass arrangement, you can treat larger capacities up to 500,000 gpd. Smaller capacities can be handled with Models 100, 200 and A200.
Tablet feeders have no moving parts to wear out and no metal parts to corrode. We guarantee our tablet feeders for 10 years.
D-CHLOR Tablets
D-CHLOR tablets are a safe and convenient form of handling reducing agents. The dangers and problems typically associated with sulfur dioxide gas systems are avoided, as well as the mixing and handling of concentrated sulfite solutions.
